Our School

A website about our parish would not be complete without some mention of our Parish School, situated on Rowland Way, Lees. Although the school is now situated some distance from the Church, the close relationship which existed when the school was just "downstairs" from the Church has been maintained. The school is very much an integral part of the parish and the community.

The school, with attached Nursery Unit, offers a quality Catholic education. Devoted staff provide a warm and welcoming learning environment.

Our primary school is now compiling a list of children whose names have been put forward for a NURSERY place in September 2008 . If you wish to apply for a place in nursery in September (children born between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2005) please contact the school office for an admissions form telephone 0161 6241377or take a Welcome Pack from the table in the Church Porch.

If you would like to register an interest in a place in RECEPTION Class for September 2008 and your child's date of birth is between 1 September 2003 and 31 August 2004 please contact school on 01616241377

A reminder of the new admissions criteria:

Admissions to both the school and its nursery unit will be made in accordance with parental choice subject to the following criteria in order of priority:

1. Roman Catholic children whose parents are part of the worshipping community of the parish of St. Edward's Lees by their regular attendance at Sunday Mass.

2. Roman Catholic children whose parents are part of the worshipping community of the parish of Sacred Heart, Uppermill by their regular attendance at Sunday Mass

3. Roman Catholic children resident in the parish of St. Edward's, Lees

4. Roman Catholic children resident in the parish of Sacred Heart Uppermill

5. Roman Catholic children having a brother or sister currently in the school

6. Other Roman Catholic children.

Parents may register their child for admission to St. Edward's School at any time

PENTECOST 2009
Prior notice to parents whose children will be in Year 3 and will be Confirmed at Pentecost 2009.
Pentecost falls on Sun. 31st May - in the middle of the Summer Half Term holiday. Please bear this in mind if you are booking holidays for this time.
